Our Impact & Social Responsibility
Incas Diagnostics has as part of its core mandate, a social mission which is defined in the African context. In defining the social mission of Incas Diagnostics, the company considered the Sustainable Development Goals and seeks to address several of them as follows:
SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being: Our core mission is to ensure good health and wellbeing. We are more specifically interested in providing access to simple easy to use diagnostics especially in the area of sexual and reproductive health as well as women’s health to people who would ordinarily not have access to these services.
SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth: The company provides decent work to 33 employees, hence helping them live sustainable lives.
SDG 5: Gender Equality: This is an important mission for us as we try to bridge the gender gap. We do this in two ways. We provide access to Sexual Reproductive Health, which is traditionally difficult to access due to privacy concerns of many women. We solve this challenge by using digital tools to help women access these services anonymously. The second aspect of our social mission in solving SDG 5 is that all the technical departments of the company are headed by women. This has ensured that talented females are nurtured and giving the opportunity to lead and make decisions in the company.
SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure: The company is currently the only company in Ghana as well as the whole sub region that develops and manufactures Point-of-Care tests kits. This encourages innovation among the employees in all aspects of the company. The fact that the company is located in Kumasi which is not the capital of Ghana is also worth noting as it encourages the setting up of several other companies around the value chain hence providing industrialization and innovation.
